INFRASTRUCURE:
Early morning, while the rejuvenating breeze blows, the lush, green
premises of DAV Public School
resound with the chanting of the vedic shlokas and the aura of
tranquillity is empyreal. The blend of contemporaneity and the
enriching philosophy of Maharshi Dayanand that the school propagates,
speaks volumes of the practical wisdom inculcated among the students,
through an enviable and excellent infrastructure.
A senior and junior library with exhaustive study material, a CD
library, a robotic lab, 7 A/C computer labs with state of the art
design, fully equipped physics, chemistry and biology labs along with
a well equipped Junior Science Lab, a math lab, a CRC, e- boards in
class room catered to by a comprehensive knowledge centre are, easily,
the pride of the School. Apart from this, a huge well ventilated
auditorium complete with sound room and a not-ordinary stage, speaks
volumes about the honourable Principal, Mrs. Anita Makkar’s no
compromise attitude where quality is concerned.
SPORTS:
The sporty spirits find equal opportunities for letting go of their
energies. The school, matter of factly, displays two basket ball
courts, a volley ball court, a badminton court, a skating rink,
cricket field, a fully functional gym, table tennis room, yoga room
and, the star in crown, a cool, blue swimming pool. No wonder then,
that with all these facilities and a competent and encouraging sports
staff, the DAVites at Gurgaon excel in sports and win many tournaments
at the State Level and National Level, be it in Athletics, Volleyball,
Table Tennis or Carrom.
FACULTY:
The academic accolades won by the students in board exams, year after
year,
stand witness to the fact that no efforts are spared and no stones
left unturned at DAV to identify, nurture and nourish the students'
potentials. An extremely efficient, industrious and able staff,
selected after gruelling interviews, churns out numerous scholars
every year, who do everyone proud by their scholastic achievements and
gain admissions in various prestigious Engineering, Medical &
Professional colleges including IIT, DCE, BITS, AFMS, REC's, SRCC,
NLSAR to name a few.
COMPETITIONS:
DAV not only emphasises academic excellence but equal weightage and importance is given to co-curricular and extra
curricular activities, which are the prerequisites of overall
personality development of an individual and DAV aims at producing
confident individuals who succeed in all spheres of life, not
mediocres, who do well in one area and fail miserably in another.
Students are offered a dazzling array of 43 activities from Philately
& Numismatics to Creative Writing, Eloquence & Dramatics ;from
Yoga & Gymnastics to Science Clubs , Maths clubs and UN Club; from
Computers & Quiz forum to Home Science, Craft & Toy making. These work
unerringly towards creating holistic personalities.
INSERVICE
PROGRAMMES:
Not only does the School cater to students' needs, it dutifully and
consistently arranges for orientation programmes, video conferences,
seminars and workshops for the teachers. These programmes, both at the
beginning and in the middle of sessions, take care of not only
imparting information about changes in syllabi & latest trends in
education but also tackle issues like stress management, time
management, child psychology, improved communication, effective
teaching, adolescence, etc.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION:
Satisfactory Service is our prime concern. This is made
possible through regular PTMs, constant feedbacks and open-house
sessions. Apart from this, various seminars are held for parents,
where eminent personalities like Dr. Aruna Broota, Dr. Achal Bhagat,
Dr. Sameer Parekh address & satisfy parents' queries regarding their
growing children. Besides, innumerable career counselling sessions and
aptitude test sessions are held to prepare students for their future
and better equip them to choose & decide their areas of interest.
EASY ACCESSIBILITY:
We have an excellent transport network of self owned buses and buses
hired on contract, plying to almost every nook and cranny in the city.
Transport is also provided for extra classes, functions, exams and
PTM's. The bus in-charges ensure safety of the students while boarding
and travelling. Thus commuting is made easy.
REMEDIAL EDUCATION:
The school has
spanned yet another mile by setting up a centre for remedial
education. The students with learning disabilities like dyslexia and
discalculia are identified in classes II and III when these
disabilities are palpably manifested. They are given remedial sessions
during and after school hours, as per their requirements. After a
customized duration of these sessions, these children perform with
their classmates and have shown remarkable improvements.
ANOTHER MILESTONE
The branch of the school at Sector 10-A is a living proof of its
progress and the fact that every achievement is a new beginning. The
forerunner of holistic development of an individual, DAV, Gurgaon has
forayed into the field of pre-school education with - A HOME AWAY FROM
HOME, at 10-A with an aim to nurture the tender shoots with love, care
& devotion. With Pre-Nursery and classes I-V, the school has already
carved a niche for itself in the area.
With an ideal 1:10, Teacher Student ratio, the gentle care givers ensure a
harmonious head, hand and heart development and treat each little
angel as a individual. Their tender care inculcates in the children a
love for learning & pursuit of knowledge in an environment to enhance
self expression & foster inquisitiveness by employing guided play
techniques. They work towards healthy & happy temperament growth with
utmost patience and promote aptitude development with active parental
involvement at every step of their child's growth.
The care that
has gone in raising the proud structure is evident in every corner.
The state of the art Auditorium, well-equipped Activity Rooms, the
colourful Class Rooms and the big hall in the basement, wax eloquent
of the precision and eye for detail which has gone into it.
Consistent updating with latest methods & techniques in areas of Child
development & learning is an imperative aspect of the
Teaching-learning process since our dedicated & devoted faculty moves
with the conviction that a child's best text book is his Teacher and
that he/she always carries the impression of his teacher's words
though he may rarely remember what he reads.
The school
initiated the endeavour of providing a second home to children with
special needs, three years ago. Today, trained teachers and
professionals cater to the pre- vocational, the vocational and
recreational needs of 40 such individuals within the age group of 5
and 17. normal behavioural patterns are encouraged by integrating
these special children with their ordinary counterparts, taking care
not to hamper their MR in their independency. They are gaining
proficiency in MS word, Excel and Powerpoint, apart from receiving
training in sports, dining out etc.
