>Dr. V. S. Ravindran, the renowned Educational Psychologist, Counsellor Trainer and Teacher Educator visited D.A.V Public School, Sector 14, Gurgaon on 4th September 2013 to guide and counsel the students of class XII.
>Gurgaon Police initiated Cyber Safe Campaign 2013 to create awareness among school children against rising cyber crimes. Under this adage, a talk session was conducted by noted cyber expert andconsultant, Mr. Rakshit Tandon for students of class Xth and XIth on 2nd May in DAV Public School, Sector-14. Students were explained the legalities in terms of luring, phishing and criminal aspect of cyber crime. Catering to the needs of Generation Y, the workshop focused on safe surfing techniques, especially on social networking sites and internet downloads. Overall, it was a very enriching and enlightening
>Riya Chhibber of class XII-J from D.A.V. Public School, Sector-14, Gurgaon participated in a week-long Summer Training Programme with the Times NIE Group from 10th-14th June 2013. Her experience was one of a kind where she learnt how to report and edit stories, write reviews and news features and design colourful, reader friendly pages. The Times NIE has helped students to evolve into well informed, articulate, individuals by providing an intensive and challenging journalism programme coupled with marketing inputs in the field of media.
>DAV, GURGAON FLAG SOARS HIGH-Unified Cricket World Cup which was played from 28 May to 3 June 2014, at Dhaka, saw three students from DAV, sector-14, Gurgaon rising to fame. Three countries India, Bangladesh and SriLanka participated in the tournament and the Indian team emerged as winners.
>To encourage imagination and conviction and to voice their opinion on social issues, the students of classes IX and X of DAV Public School Sector 14, Gurgaon participated in the inter-house Vox Populi held in the auditorium .The event was a part of the yearly activity under the British Council Project. The topic of Vox Populi was ‘Racism’: Dividing People into “Us “and “Them” .The young students displayed tremendous energy and enthusiasm, bringing to life racial issues of India by playing the lives and characters from daily lives. Applauding the remarkable performances by the participants, the judges expressed their appreciation for the hard work put in by the children and the school staff for the overall success of the show. The judgment was done on the basis of dialogue delivery, props used, pronunciation, use of the stage space, expression and confidence of the participants. There was a right mix of emotions, research and conviction. The choice of songs to further explain their views was apt. Stage shows and theatre comprise the most powerful medium of communication available and the students utilised the opportunity to the fullest and were truly deserving of all the applause and appreciation.
>The solo song competition was held on 30 July 2014 for classes XI and XII. There were about 25 participants from various houses. Variety of renditions ranging from Indian classical to western pop enthralled the students. >Gurgaon Police Awareness Drive at DAV Public School, Sector 14, Gurgaon.
>SHOW and TELL competition was held on 21 .07.14 ,theme was healthy food .Children showed healthy food items which varied from coconut water to nuts and from buttermilk to sprouts and spoke few lines about the food items. Following students scored positions.
>Air Force School, Subrotto Park, New Delhi organized an event “AVISHKAAR” on 3rd May 2014. Our school students participated in various competitions. Pratyush Maini and Amol Shriwatri of class XI won First Prize in “INNOVATIVE INVESTIGATIONS”.Navneet Kaur and Aakriti Malhotra of class XII won Second Prize in symposium for the topic ” DESIGNER BABIES”.
>In Gurgaon Road Safety Mega Festival quiz competition held at Amity International School sector-43, our school team has won third prize with Lenovo Tablet, A Bronze Medal, A Maruti Suzuki Bag with keychain. >Northern India Science Fair was organized between 16th - 18th Dec’13 at National Science Centre (Pragati Maidan). Under the Individual category our School project PARASITIC ENERGY HARVESTER won first prize and was awarded a certificate, trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-. Participant was Pratyush Maini (X A) with teacher Mr. Anil Yadav. Under the team project category our School project TRANSMUTING AND TRANFORMING ENERGY won the first prize and was awarded a certificate, trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 3000/- each. Our School team was- Himangi Saxena(X A) and Shubh Pahwa(IX B) with teacher Mrs. Rachna Yadav.
>An Inter-House News reading competition was held for classes IX-X on 16th December, 2013.

>To show the skills at doing their work neatly Hindi Handwriting Competition was held on 29.11.13 for class I .The following students did exceptionally well .Anuradha Ghosh of I E (Jagriti house) got first prize , Aditya Yadav of I E (Jagriti house) won second prize and Karishma of I Ai (Shakti House) got third prize and encouragement to Hardik of I E(Kirti House) .

>An Inter-House Solo dance competition (Western & Classical) was held for classes IX-X on 30th December, 2013.Under Western category the winner for first position was Yashika Bhakri IX- B (Preeti House) and winner for second position was Bhavya Arora X-D (Shakti House) .Under classical category the winner for first position was Vrushali Karanjkar IX G (Preeti House) and Shivani Sharma IX G (Kirti House), for second position Nabodita Rao X F (Jyoti House)and for third position Jaya Khurrana IX A (Jagriti House).

>Students of class XI (medical stream) visited the National Brain Research Center, Manesar , Haryana on 16th December, 2013. NBRC conducted a quiz on the occasion of the foundation day celebration; our students MOHIT YADAV and JAYATI KHANNA from class XI A participated in the quiz and bagged the first position. They were awarded a trophy, certificate and cash prize of ` 1000/ each.The Science Trip
>21st National Children’s Science Congress-2013 (A Programme of National Council for Science & Technology Communication, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India) was held on 30th November, 2013 at District Level. The Focal theme was Energy: Explore, Harness & Conserve. Our students were selected to represent Gurgaon district at State level on 7th-8th December 2013. Our students have been further selected to represent Haryana state at National level, to be held at Bhopal. Pratyush Maini (Team Leader) would be representing his team with their model Parasitic Energy Harvester.

>In Essay Writing Competition(Topic:The Road to Success is always under construction) held on 16th May 2013, Prachi Pahuja of class X-A (Kirti House)won the I Prize, Sohini Chatterjee of class X-A (Preeti House) won the II Prize, Aditi Gera of class IX-F (Kirti House)won the III Prize and Pratyush Maini of class X-A (Jyoti House) won the encouragement prize.
>On-the-Spot, Hindi Creative Writing Competition for Topic “ Kaisi Hawa Mein Saans Le Rahein Hain Hum……” was given to alll the students of classes IX and X. Excellent compositions were received from the students in this 100% participation event. The I Prize was won by Abhin Sharma of class IX-C (Niti House), II Prize was shared by Khyati of class X-F (Jyoti House) and Mansi Mohan of class IX-E and III Prize was won by Shikha Aggarwal of class X-A (Kirti House).
> Young Intach...............Intach (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) brings out its quaterly news letter: Young Intach, wherein best entries sent by the school students are given space. Entries of Tanishka IX and Aanvi Goyal IV from our school were published in the July-Sept.2013 issue and they have been awarded a certificate and book. They had sent their articles on the topic: “Metal Mastery”.
>Govt. School, Sec-4, Gurgaon organized District Govt. Schools Athletic Meet from August 6, 2013 to August 8, 2013. Our students achieved prizes in various events.Akanksha Dalal(XI) won I Prize in Javelin and I prize in Shot Put in Under-19 years category.Shreya Dogra(XI) won II Prizein Discus Throw in Under-19 years category.
>In Under-17 years category,Shivangi Jaiswal (IX) won the I prize in each- 100m , 200m, 4 x 100 m. She also won the II Prize in Javelin,Komal Yadav(X) won the I prize in 4 x 100 m and II Prize in 400m. Aditi Rao(IX) and Riya Kataria(X) won the I Prize in 4 x 100m. >In Heritage District Football Tournament organized at Heritage School, Gurgaon from August 29, 2013 to August 31, 2013 our team won the tournament. >Interhouse Extempore competition was held for CLASSES IV-V on 22August 2013.The participants of all the houses were given the topic on the spot. They spoke on that topic for 2 minutes and related it to their real life situations. The Prize winners are: Oshi Gupta of class V-D(Neeti House) stood first. Lekisha of class V-A(Jagriti House) was awarded the second prize .The third prize was shared by Rubal Ahuja of class V-B (Jyoti House) and Aryan Erry of class IV-B(Neeti House).The Encouragement prize was given to Manthan Shah of IV-E(Jagriti House).
>The Origami competition for all the students of classes IV - V was held on 16 August 2013. The children showed their creativity by making different compositions using paper folding. The prize winners are: Vanshika Kataria of IV-G (Kirti House) stood First. The second prize was bagged by Sehaj Grover of IV-C(Jyoti House).The third prize was awarded to Manya Mangla of IV-D and Encouragement prize was given to Nipun Chawla Of class IV-G(Shakti House).
>Rohit Mrig and Simran Batra of XIth standard participated in the C.B.S.E. Regional Level Science Exhibition 2013 held at Blue Bells Public School, Sector 10, Gurgaon from 2nd September to 4th September 2013. The students developed a model applying traditional knowledge to make effective, eco-friendly and economical insect repellents and trappers.The students are selected to represent the Panchkula Region at the National under the theme Health and Community.
>Our school participated in the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute –IT Symposium Zenith-2013 in which over 30 schools and 300 students participated .We won the roller trophy .In ‘ANIMATRIX’

The inter house competition which comprised of 8 rounds revolving around topics such as economy, current affairs, science etc. was engaging as the participants as well as the audience brainstormed their way through the finals. >DAV Public School, Gurgaon participated in the debate competition - "India Calling", organized by Manav Rachna International School, Sector 43, Gurgaon. Most of the reputed schools of Gurgaon participated in it. Our students - Anmol Mittal, and Sarthak Singh participated in the simulation of "Indian Conference of 1st March 1945"; Oorvi Mehta and Parth Gulati participated in the debate on "The Education System of India"; and, Pratyush Maini along with Yash Jaiswal participated in the debate on "Communism v/s Democracy".In all, 6 awards were given by the organizers. >ITIHAAS Organization conducted a national level competition known as "ANVESHAN - Ink your Links" in 5 different categories for classes VI - XII. Students were required to come up with original projects on the topics given in each category. More than 300 schools from across the nation participated in this contest and ITIHAAS received around 500-700 projects in each category. Our project on "the Dying Sukhrali Pond" submitted under "Udgaar" category won the 1st Prize. The members of the winning team were - Chinar Wadhwa,Manish Makkar,Bhanu Prakash,Mansi Yadav,Shivani Kaushik .The prizes were handed over by the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir - Shri. >The inter house Solo song competition, held on 17 May 2013, was a delightful experience for all of us. The students enjoyed the rhythm, tune and melody of all the participants who really deserve immense appreciation. Our heartiest congratulations to all the prize winners. First prize was won by Divyanshi (V-E) Jyoti House, Second prize was bagged by Yuvraj (IV-G) Preeti House and Khyati (V-E) Kirti House. Third prize was won by Aman (V-A) Shakti House and Palak (V-E) Shakti House.
>Congratulations to Vrinda Sharma of V-A( Jagriti House) for being the Topper , Deepika of IV-A (Preeti House ) and Tanushka of IV-C (Kirti House) for being the First Runner-up (Second Prize),Satyam of IV-C (Shakti House) for being the Second Runner-up(Third prize) . Bhoomi of V-C (Neeti House) bagged the Encouragement prize in the Interhouse Hindi Poem Recitation Competition held on 2 May 2013. Each house had 4 participants from classes IV and V. The students recited the poems with ease and fluency and their diction was also taken care of.
>Inter house English poem recitation competition was held on 12 April 2013. All the houses participated in this competition with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Each house had 2 participants from class IV and 2 participants from class V. The pause, fluency, pronunciation of the students were noted and they were encouraged to do even better. The Prize Winners are: Shaurya Chakraborty of IV-D (Neeti House) stood First. Second prize was bagged by Antara Basu of V-D (Jagriti House) , third prize was awarded to Maitreyi Purohit of V-E(Neeti House) and Encouragement prize was awarded to Aditi Kaushik of V-C (JYOTI House).
>English poem recitation competition was held on 12 April 2013. All the houses participated in this competition with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Each house had 2 participants from class-IV and 2 participants from class V. The pauses, fluency, pronunciation of the students were noted and they were encouraged to do even better.
>Independence Day was celebrated on 13th August 2014. The children of Kindergarten wholeheartedly took part in various speeches, group songs, poems and dance.
>Children of UKG and LKG took part in Hindi recitation competition on 31/07/2014 and 01/08/2014 respectively. Through this activity, children gained confidence in speaking with proper voice modulation and expressions. It also helped them to develop their language skills.
>Clay moulding competition was held on 21/11/13. It helped the children to express their creativity. This activity helped them develop their fine motor skills.
>HINDI RECITATION........Children took part enthusiastically in Hindi poem recitation. It helped them to build their confidence.
>India’s 68th Independence Day was celebrated in the school premises on 15th August 2014 with great fervor. A cultural program was organized by the school students celebrating the greatness of our Motherland. Children took part with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm in various cultural activities like orchestra, songs and dances celebrating the joy of the day.
>To celebrate the Independence Day a poster making competition was held for the students of group I-II, II-IV and V-VI based on their interpretation of the theme Incredible India. Here are the results…………….
English Handwriting Competition was held on 13/05/2014 for Classes I & II. Students participated enthusiastically. Mahek of I C won the First Prize, Aarushi of II A(i) bagged II prize and Manit of II D stood at third position.
> The Colouring Competition was held for the Kindergarten on the 8th May 2014. The children displayed their imagination and colouring skills. In LKG Naman Jain of LKG A and Yashit Yadav of LKG B won first prize. Second prize was shared by Akshiti of LKG A and Abhipsa Mohapatra of LKG B. Third prize was bagged by Atharv Nassa of LKG C and Kusha Khullar of LKG C. In UKG Pushti Goel of UKG A and Siddhi Mangla of UKG B won first prize. Second prize was shared by Naman Belwal of UKG A and Shreeparna Swaroop of UKG C. Third prize was bagged by Shambhvi Chandna of UKG B and Heba Fathima Zaman of UKG C.
>Special Wing Cycling Training Camp for Athletes was held in June 2014 in school’s campus.
>To showcase the talents such as public speaking, thinking on the spot and effective communication, the extempore competition was held on 23rd July 2014 for classes V and VI. Saachi Dudeja VIA from jyoti House won the first prize and Devansh Giri VIA from jyoti House bagged second prize. Tanishi Yadav VB from Preeti House stood at third position and Rebha Khurana VIA from Neeti House received consolation prize.
>Inter House Card Making Competition’ was held on 25th July 2014 for classes III and IV. The topic was “Free India”. Students brought all the accessories required for card from home. Children expressed their imagination by drawing, cutting, pasting and decorating the cards using different materials. From Preeti House Anubhav Rawat IVC bagged first prize, Aarshiya Bajaj IV C second and third prize was won by Savera IVB.
> To augment the artistic skills of the students an Inter-House Poster Making Competition for classes V and VI was held on 25th July 2014. Rebha Khurana VIA from Neeti House won the first prize. Ojaswin Saxena VIB from jyoti House bagged second prize. Vritika Chawla VB from Jyoti House stood at third position.
>A story telling inter house competition was organized for the classes III and IV on 28th July 2014 at the school campus in order to encourage the children to narrate stories. All the Participants tried their best to impress the audience by narrating their stories enthusiastically. Vibhav Kumar from jyoti House won first prize and Disha Grover from Shakti House bagged second prize. Tanishq Jaiswal from Jyoti House , Tammana from Preeti house managed to stand at third position and Ishika Kumar form Preeti House, Prabhleen Kaur from Neeti House received consolation prize.
> Show and Tell Competition was held 28th July 2014. The topic given to the students was ‘ Food Items’. It was a very enlightening programme and all the students put forwarded their ideas. Vrinda IAi and Daizy IBi from jyoti House won the first prize and Yash Yadav II D from Shakti House and Ameeshi Bhatnagar II Ai from Neeti House bagged second prize. Krrish K Mutreja from Preeti House , Daksh Jhangra I Ai from Preeti house, Aarushi Singh II Ai from Neeti House managed to stand at third position and Siya IAi form Preeti House, Himakshi Chauhan II Ai from Shakti House received consolation prize.
>Hemakshi Chauhan II Ai won Chess Competition at Inter State level and would be going to Mumbai in September for participating in Nationals.

>The enthusiastic participants left the audience mesmerized in Inter house English Declamation Competition(classes III, IV) was held on 17/08/2013. Students were given a chance to express their voice on the topics Wonderful World of books / Use of Gadgets for today’s generation. The first prize was won by Sourish IIIAi (Shakti House), second was shared by Ishika & Divyam IIIC Preeti House and third was bagged by Mimansa Rawat IIIAi (Neeti House).
> Inter House English Poem Recitation Competition for classes III and IV was held on 16/05/2013 encountered with great collection of poems to which our children performed and did justice to every extent. It gave the platform to the students to develop their oratory skills. Divyam Sood of IIIC bagged the first prize, Madahv (IVA) won second prize, Abhipsha of IV B won third prize and Tanishq of III B bagged encouragement prize.
>Inter house Solo Song Competition for classes III and IV held on 09/07/2013. Students were given a chance to express their melodious voice through beautiful tunes. Sneha (IV A) Neeti House stood first, Second place was bagged by Pranshu IV B(Jyoti House), third by Charu IIIC (Preeti House) and consolation was shared by Pulkit, Ayush IV A( Shakti House ).
>Inter House English Declamation Competition for Classes V & VI Held on 16/08/2013. Students were able to put across their views clearly and confidently. The first prize was won by Mitiksha Kumar of VB (Shakti House), Second Prize was bagged by Saachi Dudeja of VA (Jyoti House) , Third Prize was awarded to Saksham Arora of VI (Neeti House) and Encouragement Prize was rewarded to Ojaswin Saxena of VB ( Jyoti House)
>Inter House English Extempore Competition for Classes V & VI was held on 11/07/2013. Students Explored various topic and came up with creative expressions and imaginative ideas. The First prize was won by Anushka Verma of VI B (Jyoti House), Second prize was bagged by Kamya Rana of VA ( Shakti House), Third Prize was won by Ananya Mudgal of VI A (Neeti House) and Encouragement prize was won by Shubham Rao of VIA (Preeti House).
>Inter House Hindi Speech Competition for Classes V & VI was held on 11/07/2013. Students participated with Speeches in Hindi. The Winners were as follow: First Prize was won by Shreya Goyal (Jyoti House), Second prize was Bagged by Bhumita of VI B (Shakti House), Third Prize was won by Mitiksha of VB ( Shakti House ) and Encouragement was Bagged by Dakshi Goyal of VI B ( Jyoti House.).

>Little hands of Pre Nursery and K.G. amazed everyone with their brilliant working patterns in Kid-O-Mania at Scottish High Internatinal School,Gurgaon . Veronika of class Pre-Nursery(Rose) won the Ist prize in Jungle Safari and Daisy Kumar of LKG B won the Ist prize in Flag making.They also brought laurels to the school by bagging the overall trophy.
