>Gurgaon Police initiated Cyber Safe Campaign 2013 to create awareness among school children against rising cyber crimes. Under this adage, a talk session was conducted by noted cyber expert andconsultant, Mr. Rakshit Tandon for students of class Xth and XIth on 2nd May in DAV Public School, Sector-14. Students were explained the legalities in terms of luring, phishing and criminal aspect of cyber crime. Catering to the needs of Generation Y, the workshop focused on safe surfing techniques, especially on social networking sites and internet downloads. >Riya Chhibber of class XII-J from D.A.V. Public School, Sector-14, Gurgaon participated in a week-long Summer Training Programme with the Times NIE Group from 10th-14th June 2013. Her experience was one of a kind where she learnt how to report and edit stories, write reviews and news features and design colourful, reader friendly pages. The Times NIE has helped students to evolve into well informed, articulate, individuals by providing an intensive and challenging journalism programme coupled with marketing inputs in the field of media.

>Students of class XI (medical stream) visited the National Brain Research Center, Manesar , Haryana on 16th December, 2013. NBRC conducted a quiz on the occasion of the foundation day celebration; our students MOHIT YADAV and JAYATI KHANNA from class XI A participated in the quiz and bagged the first position. >An interhouse G.K. quiz was held on 10 september for the students of class III.The teams had to face six rounds which tested different areas of their knowledge like general awareness,mental ability,visual round etc.The team which bagged the first prize was from Preeti House.Its participants wereSaksham gupta III E,Vidit Gupta III F,Navya Verma IIIC and Soumya Sharma IIIF .The runners up position was taken byJyoti House.Its participants were Ishita Goel III Bi ,Kartikey Anand Dagar III C,Anushka Singh III D and Takshit Gupta IIIF.
>The creative writing competition was held on 12th September for the students of class III where the students had to compose a poem on the topic 'Nature is Beautiful' or 'I am a happy child'.The topic was given to the students on the spot.The children madegood use of their imagination and came up with beautiful compositions.The first prize is bagged by Sushant Nath of class IIID( Kirti House).The second prize is awarded to Apurva Yadav of class IIIBi(Kirti House).The third prize is given to Soumil Maitri of class IIIFAND Ishita Goel of class IIIBi(Jyoti House) gets the encouragement prize.
>The greeting card making competition was held on 3rd October for the students of class III.The children were free to make the card for any occasion ranging from Diwali cards to Gandhi Jayanti cards.The first prize is awarded to Ishita goel of class IIIB i(Jyoti House).The second prize was given to Unnati Bhardwaj of IIID(Niti House) and the third prize was bagged by Yashika chug of IIIE(Kirti House).
>The digital painting competition was held on 9th October.In this competition the students get an oppurtunity to combine technologywith creativity.We got some really good entries!The first prize was bagged by Saloni of class IIIC (Shakti House) whereas the second prize was shared by Ishita of class IIIBi(Jyoti House)and Divyam of class IIIF(Jagriti House).Arshiya of class IIID (Shakti House) was given the Third Prize.
>The solo Dance competition was organised on 1 November.The students gave a mesmerizing performance.The audience also enjoyed the verylively and enthusiastic performances . The first prize is awarded to Deepanshi of IIIAi(Jagriti House) and Apurva of IIIBi(Kirti House).The second prize is also shared by two students Mehak of IIIAi(Niti House) and Dakshsa of class IIIBi(Jagriti House).The third prize is awarded to Palakof class IIID(Jagriti House) and the encouragement prize is given to Kushagra of IIID(Shakti House).
>The G.K. quiz competition was held on 15 October, 2013 in the auditorium . There were four participants from each house who participated in the competition. There were a series of interesting rounds and the competition really helped the participants and the audience to interact well and share a lot of information.The Jagriti House was declared as the WINNER and the RUNNERS UP was Preeti House.

>GREETING CARD MAKING COMPETITION The competition was held on 3 October 2013, just before the festival of Dussehra. All the students from classes’ I-V participated enthusiastically in this competition. The students exhibited their creative skills and decorated their artistic pieces with intricate beauty. >In Essay Writing Competition(Topic:The Road to Success is always under construction) held on 16th May 2013, Prachi Pahuja of class X-A (Kirti House)won the I Prize, Sohini Chatterjee of class X-A (Preeti House) won the II Prize, Aditi Gera of class IX-F (Kirti House)won the III Prize and Pratyush Maini of class X-A (Jyoti House) won the encouragement prize.>Poster Making Competition(Topic: Gender Bias in Modern Era)for class IX held on 9th July 2013, saw a 100% participation. Shagun Taneja of class IX-A (Jyoti House)won the I Prize, Swaranshi Mittal of class IX-G (Shakti House) won the II Prize, Rashika Jakhmola of class IX-B (Jagriti House)won the III Prize and Yashika Bhakri of class IX-B (Preeti House) won the encouragement prize.>A new event-‘ Illustrations Competition’ was added this year, where one of the five given pieces of English and Hindi poems were to be illustrated pictorially using any medium of choice by the students. The event received an overwhelming response and saw 100% participation.The I Prize was won by Sohini Chatterjee of class X-A (Preeti House), II Prize was won by Samyak Aggarwal of class IX-B (Jagriti House) and III Prize was won by Neha Singh of class X-G (Niti House).
>On-the-Spot, Hindi Creative Writing Competition for Topic “ Kaisi Hawa Mein Saans Le Rahein Hain Hum……” was given to alll the students of classes IX and X. Excellent compositions were received from the students in this 100% participation event. The I Prize was won by Abhin Sharma of class IX-C (Niti House), II Prize was shared by Khyati of class X-F (Jyoti House) and Mansi Mohan of class IX-E(…….House) and III Prize was won by Shikha Aggarwal of class X-A (Kirti House).>Technolothon 2013 at IIT Guwahati.....Technolothon is an annual competition conducted by IIT Guwahati as a part of their Technology and management festival “Techniche”. The competition is conducted at two levels – prelimis and Mains. At the preliminary level approximately 1.5 lakh students participated nationaly and internationally in Junior Squad and Senior Haute categories. Four students from our school Aman Gupta XB, Gaurav Batra XB, Puneet Anand XB and Nikhil Aggarwal XB cleared the preliminary round in the Junior Squad category and were among the top 50 teams invited to participate in the Mains event at IIT Guwahati. They parcipated in the various events and interacted with Minh Lee( Co-createor of “ Counter-strike” game) and Pat Spain( Host of Beast Hunter Program on Nat Geo).They were accompanied by Mr. Anil Yadav.>District level Science Seminar......District level science Seminar was organized by Haryana State Council for Science and Technlogy on 29th August 2013. > Young Intach...............Intach (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) brings out its quaterly news letter: Young Intach, wherein best entries sent by the school students are given space. Entries of Tanishka IX and Aanvi Goyal IV from our school were published in the July-Sept.2013 issue and they have been awarded a certificate and book. They had sent their articles on the topic: “Metal Mastery”.

Our students achieved prizes in various events.Akanksha Dalal(XI) won I Prize in Javelin and I prize in Shot Put in Under-19 years category.Shreya Dogra(XI) won II Prizein Discus Throw in Under-19 years category.
>In Under-17 years category,Shivangi Jaiswal (IX) won the I prize in each- 100m , 200m, 4 x 100 m. She also won the II Prize in Javelin,Komal Yadav(X) won the I prize in 4 x 100 m and II Prize in 400m. Aditi Rao(IX) and Riya Kataria(X) won the I Prize in 4 x 100m. >In Heritage District Football Tournament organized at Heritage School, Gurgaon from August 29, 2013 to August 31, 2013 our team won the tournament. >Interhouse Extempore competition was held for CLASSES IV-V on 22August 2013.The participants of all the houses were given the topic on the spot. They spoke on that topic for 2 minutes and related it to their real life situations. The Prize winners are: Oshi Gupta of class V-D(Neeti House) stood first. Lekisha of class V-A(Jagriti House) was awarded the second prize .The third prize was shared by Rubal Ahuja of class V-B (Jyoti House) and Aryan Erry of class IV-B(Neeti House).The Encouragement prize was given to Manthan Shah of IV-E(Jagriti House).
>The Origami competition for all the students of classes IV - V was held on 16 August 2013. The children showed their creativity by making different compositions using paper folding. >Rohit Mrig and Simran Batra of XIth standard participated in the C.B.S.E. Regional Level Science Exhibition 2013 held at Blue Bells Public School, Sector 10, Gurgaon from 2nd September to 4th September 2013. The students developed a model applying traditional knowledge to make effective, eco-friendly and economical insect repellents and trappers.The students are selected to represent the Panchkula Region at the National under the theme Health and Community.

The inter house competition which comprised of 8 rounds revolving around topics such as economy, current affairs, science etc. was engaging as the participants as well as the audience brainstormed their way through the finals. >DAV Public School, Gurgaon participated in the debate competition - "India Calling", organized by Manav Rachna International School, Sector 43, Gurgaon. Most of the reputed schools of Gurgaon participated in it. Our students - Anmol Mittal, and Sarthak Singh participated in the simulation of "Indian Conference of 1st March 1945"; Oorvi Mehta and Parth Gulati participated in the debate on "The Education System of India"; and, Pratyush Maini along with Yash Jaiswal participated in the debate on "Communism v/s Democracy".In all, 6 awards were given by the organizers. >ITIHAAS Organization conducted a national level competition known as "ANVESHAN - Ink your Links" in 5 different categories for classes VI - XII. Students were required to come up with original projects on the topics given in each category. More than 300 schools from across the nation participated in this contest and ITIHAAS received around 500-700 projects in each category. Our project on "the Dying Sukhrali Pond" submitted under "Udgaar" category won the 1st Prize. The members of the winning team were - Chinar Wadhwa,Manish Makkar,Bhanu Prakash,Mansi Yadav,Shivani Kaushik .The prizes were handed over by the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir - Shri. >On the spot English paragraph writing competition was organized on 13.05.13 for classes II-III to encourage our budding writers and to develop their writing skills.The topics were :1)My country India - I'm proud of it. or 2)Reading makes us a better person.Some pieces of writings gave an insight into the patriotic sentiments of our little ones and also their passion for reading.Sushant (III D)Kirti House bagged the first prize followed by Saloni of class (III ) Shakti House.Maanvi chawla of (III A i )Jagriti House stood third and encouragement was awarded to Krish Narang (II F) Niti House.

>English declamation competition held on 22 July 2013 marked the first event after the summer vacation. The students were filled with zeal and enthusiasm after the summer break. >Inter house English poem recitation competition was held on 12 April 2013. All the houses participated in this competition with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Each house had 2 participants from class IV and 2 participants from class V. The pause, fluency, pronunciation of the students were noted and they were encouraged to do even better. >English poem recitation competition was held on 12 April 2013. All the houses participated in this competition with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Each house had 2 participants from class-IV and 2 participants from class V. The pauses, fluency, pronunciation of the students were noted and they were encouraged to do even better.

>Clay moulding competition was held on 21/11/13. It helped the children to express their creativity. This activity helped them develop their fine motor skills.>English Recitation was held on 29/10/13 and 30/10/13. It helped children to enhance their speaking skills. They also learned to recite poems with proper voice modulation.
>The students of kindergarten displayed their theme ‘Transport’ and ‘Air’. Models and experiment related to the topic were displayed and the children confidently explained their theme.
>Camel drawing competition was held on 30.8.13 in kindergarten. The topic was “My Friend”. The Children used their imagination brilliantly and used vibrant colours to complete their picture.
>The festival of Janmashtami was celebrated on 27.08.2013. The dance performance “Raaslila” given by the little ones was full of fun and frolic.
>Independence day was celebrated on 13th August 2013. The children of Kindergarten wholeheartedly took part in various speeches, group songs, poems and dance.
>Children took part in Show and Tell activity to improve their vocabulary and speaking skills, thus developing their overall personality
>KINDERGARTEN DAY.....Children enacted brilliantly in a play, ‘The Shoemaker and the Elves’, and danced energetically on different songs.
>GREEN GROCER SHOP.......An activity where children learn while doing. Through this activity, children come to know about different fruits and vegetables and how to purchase them.
>HINDI RECITATION........Children took part enthusiastically in Hindi poem recitation. It helped them to build their confidence.
> Children of Kindergarten participated in English Recitation held on 30/10/12 and 31/10/12 to enhance their language skills and develop their personality.

Students were given a chance to express their melodious voice through beautiful tunes. >The enthusiastic participants left the audience mesmerized in Inter house English Declamation Competition(classes III, IV) was held on 17/08/2013. Students were given a chance to express their voice on the topics Wonderful World of books / Use of Gadgets for today’s generation. The first prize was won by Sourish IIIAi (Shakti House), second was shared by Ishika & Divyam IIIC Preeti House and third was bagged by Mimansa Rawat IIIAi (Neeti House).
> Inter House English Poem Recitation Competition for classes III and IV was held on 16/05/2013 encountered with great collection of poems to which our children performed and did justice to every extent. It gave the platform to the students to develop their oratory skills. Divyam Sood of IIIC bagged the first prize, Madahv (IVA) won second prize, Abhipsha of IV B won third prize and Tanishq of III B bagged encouragement prize.
>Inter house Solo Song Competition for classes III and IV held on 09/07/2013. Students were given a chance to express their melodious voice through beautiful tunes. Sneha (IV A) Neeti House stood first, Second place was bagged by Pranshu IV B(Jyoti House), third by Charu IIIC (Preeti House) and consolation was shared by Pulkit, Ayush IV A( Shakti House ).
>Inter House English Declamation Competition for Classes V & VI Held on 16/08/2013. Students were able to put across their views clearly and confidently. The first prize was won by Mitiksha Kumar of VB (Shakti House), Second Prize was bagged by Saachi Dudeja of VA (Jyoti House) , Third Prize was awarded to Saksham Arora of VI (Neeti House) and Encouragement Prize was rewarded to Ojaswin Saxena of VB ( Jyoti House)
>Inter House English Extempore Competition for Classes V & VI was held on 11/07/2013. Students Explored various topic and came up with creative expressions and imaginative ideas. The First prize was won by Anushka Verma of VI B (Jyoti House), Second prize was bagged by Kamya Rana of VA ( Shakti House), Third Prize was won by Ananya Mudgal of VI A (Neeti House) and Encouragement prize was won by Shubham Rao of VIA (Preeti House).
>Inter House Hindi Speech Competition for Classes V & VI was held on 11/07/2013. Students participated with Speeches in Hindi. The Winners were as follow: First Prize was won by Shreya Goyal (Jyoti House), Second prize was Bagged by Bhumita of VI B (Shakti House), Third Prize was won by Mitiksha of VB ( Shakti House ) and Encouragement was Bagged by Dakshi Goyal of VI B ( Jyoti House.).
>Inter House Solo Song Competition of Classes V & VI was Held on 24/07/2013. Students representing different houses participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Winners were as follow: the first prize was won by Bhumita of VIB ( Jyoti House) , Second Prize was Bagged by Abhimanyu of VB ( Jyoti House) , Third Prize was won by Aryaveer of VI A ( Neeti House)
>Little hands of Pre Nursery and K.G. amazed everyone with their brilliant working patterns in Kid-O-Mania at Scottish High Internatinal School,Gurgaon . Veronika of class Pre-Nursery(Rose) won the Ist prize in Jungle Safari and Daisy Kumar of LKG B won the Ist prize in Flag making.They also brought laurels to the school by bagging the overall trophy.
